| (Hemmingford, Aug.24): The Ravens chose the short cut to today's LSL final, remaining in the tournament winners' bracket with successive wins against West Island (10-0), Dollard (4-2), and LaSalle (11-6). Pitcher Bob Paquette set the pace with a complete-game one-hitter in the first game, while ace Braden Simpson battled a tough Lakeshore team in a route-going performance on Wednesday. Chris Jadah came on in relief in the third inning of the Thursday game, settling nerves and the LaSalle bats for the win. "We're just too stupid to lose," notes kindly coach Rob Jadah, "Even when we should." He notes that the Ravens are also getting solid defence and "extraordinary managing." |

BABE WOULD HAVE BEEN PROUD: 3 HR BY RAVENS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| (August 2, H'ford) - Marty Chambers, Chris Jadah, and Bob Paquette drove home runs in a five-run fourth as the Ravens erased a 6-4 Dollard lead to play a big part in dealing the visitors a first loss of the 2008 season. The barrage marked the second comeback of the game for the Juniors, who spotted the league leaders a 4-run lead in the first, yet still needed the heroics of Corey Morency in the home seventh, who broke a 9-9 tie with a 2-out RBI single. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| STITCHES OUTNUMBER HITS AS RAVENS DROP CLOSE ONE TO DDO (Dollard, July 26) - A scintillating mound performance by Bionic Braden Simpson went for nothing as the Ravens' Chris Jadah was shuttled to the hospital in the fourth inning to close an ugly gash caused by a hard-sliding Dollard player leaving the Ravens short of players. |

(Kirkland, July 5) - Shrugging off his second catching assignment of the day, Marty Chambers collected four hits as the Ravens continued their improbable tournament run with an easy 6-1 win over previously undefeated St. Bruno. With their fourth consecutive win, the Ravens moved into the championship game on Sunday at 3:00 pm, and will face either Ste. Therese or St. Bruno for top honours at the Lakeshore Invitational Tournament. The depleted Raven pitching staff ran through Corey Morency, Dave Dickson, Ty Jadah, and Chris Jadah in nailing down the win, but took the wind out of the St. Bruno sails with a nifty Morency to Braden Simpson double play with the bases loaded in the second inning. |

| (Kirkland, July 5) - Playing the defending provincial BB champions from Ste. Therese, the soaring Ravens notched three runs in the top of the first inning and hung on to win 3-2 as pitchers Rob Paquette, Braden Simpson, and Chris Jadah bore down to keep the Ravens undefeated. Game MVP Colin Bernstein drove two ringing doubles and batted in the eventual winning run to help the Juniors, who left seven runners on base to keep the game close. "We can hit, pitch, and play defence with anybody here," said coach Rob 'Raving Raven' Jadah, "Which usually gives you a chance." Chris Jadah came in to pitch the seventh with no outs and a Ste. Therese runner at third, and yielded zilch. |
